Eating near VULS
This is a far-from exhaustive guide, but it should give you a sense of the variety of restaurant options near VULS. These are all within three miles of campus; there are many, many more choices just a few minutes' drive away. While we have our share of Starbucks, Panera, Wendy's, and other national chains, we will use this page to highlight Nashville's array of delicious independent restaurants.
Casual and Inexpensive Dining
SATCO is a local favorite for inexpensive Tex Mex lunch and dinner, with a great patio for outside dining.
Bread & Company offers delicious sandwiches, soups, salads and desserts.
Calypso Cafe serves healthy and inexpensive lunch and dinner. Many locals say they serve Nashville's best black beans.
Fido blurs the line between coffeehouse and restaurant.
Hog Heaven serves up Tennesse barbeque. Hog Heaven is next to Centennial Park and is a tiny operation, so be prepared to take your food home or sit outside on their picnic tables.
McDougal's Chicken Fingers and Wings cooks great food in an interesting and lively atmosphere.
Noshville Delicatessen is Nashville's own authentic New York style deli (complete with Matzah Ball soup, and pickles on your table!).
Provence Breads and Cafe is an excellent French bakery open for breakfast and lunch.
Rotier's is a meat-and-three-eatery that is famous for its hamburgers and milkshakes. Their Southern style food will stick to your ribs.
Finer Dining (mid-level pricing to expensive)
Cabana offers great people watching and a menu with a wide variety of food and prices. This is one of Nashville's trendier spots.
Mambu offers a funky atmosphere and great food.
Park Cafe is a great date restaurant with excellent food. Like Mambu, its building was originally a house, which creates an interesting and intimate setting.
Radius 10 serves great food in a sleek, contemporary atmosphere.
Sunset Grill is a well known for its extensive wine list and amazing desserts. Their Late Nite Menu (10pm-midnight Monday-Thursday and midnight-1:30am Friday-Saturday) offers more causual and less expsensive options.
