Visiting VULS
We encourage prospective students to visit Vanderbilt Law School. Visitors are welcome at any time, but you’ll get the most from your visit if you call ahead. Appointments are normally scheduled between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. A typical visit includes a tour of the law school facilities and a meeting with an admission counselor. Applicants can also schedule an admissions interview as an optional component of the application for admission. When classes are in session, visitors can arrange to sit in on a first-year law class. Fall 2009 classes open to visitors include Civil Procedure, Contracts, Property, and Torts . Click here for a schedule of these classes and for more information.
Please call ahead (615-322-6452) to schedule a visit. The Admissions Office is located in Suite 106 on the first floor of the Law School Building.

Travel By Air
Nashville International Airport is less than 10 miles from campus and is served by most major airlines, including American, Continental, Delta, Frontier, Northwest, SkyWest, Southwest, United and US Airways. The Nashville Vicinity Map includes directions for driving from the airport to Vanderbilt. We suggest you allow 30 minutes driving time.
A taxi from the airport costs $25 to $30 one-way. Information on ground transportation can be found at http://www.nashintl.com/ground_trans/default.aspx. INShuttle charges $12 one-way between the airport and VULS or $18 round-trip when reservations are made online in advance.
Travel by Car
Nashville is located at the intersection of three major interstates: I-40, which runs east / west, and I-65 and I-24, which run north / south. Nashville is approximately 4 hours from Atlanta, 3 hours from Birmingham, 3 hours from Knoxville, 3 hours from Louisville, and 3 hours from Memphis. Vanderbilt is less than 2 miles from downtown Nashville. The Nashville Vicinity Map includes driving directions to Vanderbilt University, while the Law School Vicinity Map gives specific directions to the Law School.
Parking
Visitors may park in front of the law school, located at 21st Avenue South and Grand Avenue, in parking spaces marked for visitors. Please obtain a parking pass for your vehicle from the information desk in the main hallway of the law school. Other spaces in front of the law school are permit-only parking for employees and students.
If visitor parking in front of the law school is not available, please park in the Terrace Place Garage at the corner of 21st Avenue and Terrace Place (use spaces 41-92) , or the Wesley Place Garage on Scarritt Place at 21st Avenue (use spaces 52-170). Parking costs $8.00 per day (cash) at these garages - look for pay boxes with space numbers on wall by the stairwell. Both garages are within three blocks of the law school and are marked on the Nashville Vicinity Map.
