LAW 704: Advanced Copyright

The goal of this course is to add to the understanding of copyright gained in the introductory course. This goal will be accomplished by reading and discussing case materials that were not covered in the introductory copyright course, reconsidering some of the core topics covered in the introductory course in greater detail by reading new cases in the same line, along with materials that apply theses doctrines to new settings such as those of user-generated content, social networks and virtual worlds, and by engaging in an in-depth discussion of the major theoretical writings on core copyright topics covered in the introductory course. Pre-requisite: Copyright Law or IP Survey. [2]

 Note: Students who took the Fall, 2008 seminar in advanced copyright, User-Generated Content, Social Networks and Virtual Worlds may not take this course.
