LAW 913: Advanced Copyright SeminarThis course supplements the basic copyright course by examining advanced U.S. copyright issues, particularly in the context of new media and digital technologies. After examining some core copyright issues in greater depth, the course will then focus on the creation, protection and use of music, movies and other content in the Internet development. It covers cases, such as those involving Napster and DeCSS, as well as pending litigation. Attention is also paid to general policy issues, as well as recent legislative proposals, concerning rights, uses, licensing, technological protection and liability. Pre-requisite: Copyright Law, Intellectual Property Survey, or Law of Cyberspace. Enrollment limited. [3 credit hours] Note: Students may not enroll in both Law 913 and Law 904 (Advanced Copyright)
