LAW 744: Federal Courts and the Federal SystemAn advanced study of the power and role of the federal courts as defined by the U.S. Constitution, U.S. Supreme Court cases, and U.S. statutes. Focus is primarily on the role of the federal courts in their relations with other branches of the federal government and the state governments. Subjects covered may include standing and other justiciability questions; power of Congress to define the scope of federal court jurisdiction; state sovereign immunity; abstention; interjurisdictional preclusion and injunctions; and appellate and collateral review, including habeas corpus.
