LAW 898: International Civil Litigation in the U.S. Short Course

This short course combines lecture and problem solving in addressing selected topics such as: basic choice of law and choice of forum analysis; prescriptive jurisdiction; extraterritorial application of United States laws; international judicial assistance (service of process and discovery abroad); enforcement of judgments internationally; prejudgment remedies; and numerous defenses raised in the international litigation context, including sovereign immunity, act of state, forum non conveniens, political question, and preemption.
