LAW 957: International Criminal Law Seminar

This seminar provides an intensive exposure to the field of international criminal law through a study of international criminal courts. Focusing on the International Criminal Court, and the international criminal tribunals such as those conducted in Nuremburg and Tokyo, and for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda, the class explores the legal and political dimensions of the developing system of international criminal law. The course combines elements of public international law, international humanitarian law, comparative criminal law, and human rights law. It is recommended, but not required, that students taking this seminar have completed Public International Law. This course was previously Legal Responses to Mass Atrocity Seminar.
