LAW 799: Public Education Law

A study of the role of law in major issues in education. Emphasis is primarily on elementary and secondary education, with some attention directed toward higher education. Topics to be discussed include desegregation, freedom of expression, curriculum determination, religion and public education, and equal educational opportunity (financing, bilingual education, education for handicapped children). [2 credit hours]
