Law 850A: Trademarks

This course will cover the basics of trademarks and unfair competition law. We will examine the law, policy, and practice of legally protecting brand identifiers. We will focus primarily on federal protection of marks under the Trademark Act of 1946 and the accompanying case law. Students may also examine recent applications of trademark law to the Internet and some related state law doctrines, including the right of publicity. [1]
