Charlie's first law review journal article, ‘Giving Amnesties a Second Chance,’ was published in the Fall 2006 Berkeley Journal of International Law, soon after he graduated. "The article argues that we should reconsider the benefits that amnesties for serious violations of international law provide," he explains. "I propose a balancing test for weighing the costs and benefits of amnesties and apply this test to the recent amnesties enacted in Colombia and Algeria.” Charlie, who served as editor-in-chief of the Vanderbilt Law Review his 3L year, was appointed to the Order of the Coif after graduation. He credits the "excellent legal education" he received to the simple fact that "The professors are extremely committed to teaching.” |
