Bob Walker was appointed by the Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority to its board of commissioners. to its board of commissioners. Walker serves as one of the board's pilot representatives. He was appointed by Mayor Karl Dean (JD '81), and confirmed on by the Metropolitan Council of Nashville and Davidson County. Walker's term expires January 2012. Walker has been practicing trial law since 1968, and is a partner in Walker Tipps & Malone.
Laird Rupp Daubenspeck, born on October 8, 1943 in Pittsburg, PA, the son of Gloria Daubenspeck Bell and Laird Rupp Daubenspeck, passed away on December 14, 2007. Laird graduated from Brecksville High School in 1961, Lehigh University in 1965, and Vanderbilt University Law School in 1968. He was a ember attorney in Columbus, OH. Mr. Daubenspeck retired to Bradenton, FL. after practicing law. Mr Daubenspeck was 64 years old at the time of death. He is survived by his mother, Gloria D. Bell of Bradenton, FL; his brother James Daubenspeck of Boston, MA; and former wife Mary Miller of Bexley, OH. Surviving children are Laird Daubenspeck, Jr. of Cleveland, OH; and Lynn Daubenspeck Casto of Charlotte, NC. Surviving grandchildren are Caleb and Ian Casto.
A. Hamilton Cooke received The Florida Bar Foundation's Medal of Honor Award in June, 2007. The Florida Bar Foundation Medal of Honor is the highest award that can be bestowed upon an individual by Florida's legal profession. Mr. Cooke will receive the award for his many contributions to providing access to justice for those living in poverty, and for his tireless service to HabiJax, the Jacksonville affiliate of Habitat for Humanity.
Robert B. Tierney was featured in a January 26, 2007 article in the New York Times regarding his work as the chairman of The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission.
Robert H. Dunn became President & CEO of the Synergos Institute in November 2005. He was previously Chairman and President and CEO of Business for Social Responsibility (BSR).
