Cheryl White Mason is Vice President of Litigation for HCA, a Fortune 500 health care company headquartered in Nashville. As head of litigation, she manages all major litigation against the company and its more than 170 hospitals across the country with the exception of labor, tax and malpractice cases, and oversees the litigation section of HCA's legal department.

Before joining HCA in 2005,  Mason served as Chief of the Civil Liability Management Branch for the City of Los Angeles, where she supervised more than 80 lawyers who handled a caseload of about 3,000 cases and claims, including police, tort, constitutional, construction and commercial litigation against the City, and served as General Counsel to the Los Angeles Police Department.

From 1987 to 2002, Professor Mason was a litigation partner in the Los Angeles and San Francisco offices of the international law firm of O’Melveny & Myers, where she handled complex litigation for such clients as Pacific Gas and Electronic Company, the U.S. Department of Energy and Southern California Edison. She became the first woman in the firm's history to be elected to serve on the firm's Management Committee.
