Biography

Jeff Ockerman joined the State of Tennessee's Division of Health Planning as director, responsible for developing the state's first long-range health plan, in January 2008. He has focused on health care law much of his career, having previously practiced Of Counsel with Stites & Harbison and as Associate General Counsel with both Phycor, Inc., a physician practice management company,  with Coventry Health Care, a publicly held company that owned and operating managed health care plans, and with HCA, a for-profit hospital company. He also spent several years in practice as a founding partner of Kemper, McLemore & Ockerman. He is a memberof the American Health Lawyers Association and a past chair of the Nashville Bar Association's Health Law Committee.
