Need-based Financial Aid

Bookmark and Share

Some scholarships are awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need. For consideration, you must complete both the Need Access Form and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). International students who are not eligible to submit the FAFSA may still complete the Need Access form to be considered for need-based scholarship assistance.

When you complete the FAFSA, list Vanderbilt University’s Title IV Code, 003535. You may submit an electronic FAFSA or obtain a paper FAFSA form through a financial aid office at a college or university. The FAFSA should be completed as soon as possible after January 1.

When you complete the Need Access form, list Vanderbilt University Law School code 0035301. Parental information is required for all applicants age 25 or under.

February 15 is the priority deadline for consideration for a need-based scholarship. We recommend all forms be submitted by this date. Submitting the FAFSA and Need Access forms by the priority deadline increases the possibility of receiving a need-based scholarship. Forms submitted after the priority deadline will be considered to the extent that funds remain available.
