Vanderbilt law students can gain valuable experience through externships and summer stipend opportunites in a variety of practice settings. Externships can be arranged for summer or during an academic semester, in Nashville or anywhere in the world.

2009 Summer Stipend Awards - 35 Vanderbilt Law students received stipends for work in the public sector during summer 2009 across ten states (California (2), Delaware (2), Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, New York (4), North Carolina, Tennessee (3), Texas (2)), Washington, DC (9), and two foreign nations (The Netherlands (3), Kosovo)   

2009 International & Environmental Externships - 28 students served externships and placements related to international law during summer 2009 in Washington, DC (6), and eight foreign nations (Austria, Azerbaijan, Ireland (2), Italy (2), Kosovo, The Netherlands (4), Switzerland (2), Tanzania)  

2008 Summer Stipend Awards - 50 Vanderbilt Law students received stipends for work in the public sector during summer 2008 across thirteen states (California (4), Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Nevada, New York (3), North Carolina, Tennessee (10), Texas),  Washington, DC (8), and eleven foreign nations (Azerbaijan, Belgium, Ireland (2), Israel, Italy (3), Jamaica, The Netherlands, Peru, Sierra Leone (2), Switzerland)
