Office of Student Affairs

Vanderbilt Law School’s Office of Student Affairs provides an array of services and support to students. We have numerous resources available to current students and student organizations on the VLS intranet. Additionally, we provide programs throughout the year. The services provided by our office include:

  • General Counseling
The Office of Student Affairs is the place students come if they are struggling with academic, personal, or any other problems during the course of their time at VLS. In addition to providing general counseling, the office also provides referrals for medical or psychological assistance when necessary.

  • Bar Examination Support
We provide several programs during the course of each year ranging from a general bar exam and MPRE overview to state-specific bar exam essay writing workshops. Students with questions about the bar exam are always welcome to set up an appointment with Dean Sandine.

  • Student Well-Being Programs
Our office seeks to work with all of our students to build healthy habits while in law school.  Each year, we bring in a range of speakers and practitioners who run workshops on a wide variety of topics including, but not limited to:

    • Yoga and Qigong
    • Mindfullness Meditation
    • Diet and Brain Function
    • Positive Psychology
    • Stress Management
    • Building Healthy Relationships
  • Support to Student Organizations
At VLS, we have over 50 Student Organizations that put on a wide variety of events each week ranging from Blackacre social gatherings to major speaker events sponosored by the Hyatt Fund. The VLS Office of Student Affairs is here to assist with everything from event planning to financial management.
