Notice of Tenth SEAL Conference
Dear S.E.A.L. Members,
The Tenth S.E.A.L. Scholarship Conference will be held at Vanderbilt University Law School, in Nashville, Tennessee. The conference will begin on April 16, 2009, at 12:00 p.m., and will run through the evening of Saturday, April 18, 2009.
The Keynote Lecture will be delivered by renowned primatologist Frans de Waal - whose work is well-known to many members, and who Time Magazine listed as among the 100 most influential people of 2007.
The conference will have 2 components. Thursday (1/2 day) and Friday (all day) will provide the scholarship conference in its traditional SEAL format (with speakers selected from replies to the Call for Talk Proposals). Saturday will provide a special day of invited speakers, culminating in a late-day Keynote address by Frans de Waal.
Saturday is jointly sponsored by the Society for Evolutionary Analysis in Law, the Gruter Institute for Law and Behavioral Research, the Vanderbilt Law and Human Behavior Program, and the Vanderbilt Law and Behavioral Biology Speaker Series.
Further information about de Waal and his many works on the evolution of chimpanzee and bonobo behaviors, appears HERE.
