Notice of May 5, 2001

Dear members of the Society for Evolutionary Analysis in Law (SEAL):

I am extremely pleased to report that Steven Pinker has agreed to be our Keynote Speaker at the 4th Annual SEAL Scholarship Conference, this fall. As many of you already know, Steven Pinker is not only a path-breaking researcher and psychology professor in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT, he is also the author of two recent books that garnered major international attention: How the Mind Works and The Language Instinct.

As you may recall from prior e-mails, the conference will take place on September 21st and 22nd at the Florida State University College of Law in Tallahassee. J.B. Ruhl (JRuhl@law.fsu.edu) will be the local host. Please mark your calendars.

You can access the full conference information, as well as the registration form, either by clicking on the “Conferences” button of the official SEAL website (www.sealsite.org) - or by going directly to the 2001 Conference Notice at

Conferences.htm

As spaces are limited, we recommend early registration. The conference fee (which includes most meals) is $175.00 for registration received on or before July 15th, and $195.00 for registrations received after July 15th. Information about hotel, meals, and transportation is also available on the website.

J.B. Ruhl and I hope to see you in September.

Owen Jones
