2009/2010 Officers

President: Rachel Friedman
Vice President: Joel Heller
Treasurer: Benjamin Raybin

Faculty Advisor: Professor Beverly Moran

The purpose of the JLSA is for students to have fun while learning about Jewish traditions and modern day concerns. Activities such as lox and bagel socials, discussions about current issues, and mixers with other organizations provide an excellent opportunity for students to meet and become an active part of the law school community. Other activities include the celebration of Holy Days (for students unable to go home) and hosting speakers on topics such as the relevance of Talmudic Law to modern law and practice, international law and the Arab-Israeli conflict, and the role of traditional Jewish values in modern law. JLSA also provides an orientation to interested first-year students and information about Nashville's 5,000- member Jewish community and four local synagogues.
