The Vanderbilt Street Law Program is a project of the Legal Aid Society. Street Law is a national initiative designed to provide citizens with information about the law to assist them in their daily lives. Vanderbilt Street Law Program participants reach out to the homeless community, domestic violence victims, women with a history of prostitution and drug addiction, and local high school students. Current partnerships are with the Campus for Human Development, Monroe Harding Home, and Magdalene House.

There are several opportunities for involvement, including:

  • Teaching in one or all programs
  • Curriculum and lesson building
  • Serving as a mentor
  • Planning extracurricular activities such as the High School Moot Court Project

Upperclassmen have the possibility of earning one extracurricular credit for 55 hours of Street Law.

Since its inception, our program has continued to gain momentum and support within the community.

We encourage you to join us as we continue to serve others!
