Students can earn credit by participating in a rich variety of supervised externships, not only in Nashville but also in other parts of the country and around the world. The Law & Innovation Program encourages students to seek out externships in areas related to the intersection of law, technology, and social justice. Program faculty are well-situated to help students find suitable placements.
Vanderbilt Law Students may take advantage of a variety of opportunities to conduct research with Law & Innovation faculty, either by assisting faculty members with their research or by conducting their own research under faculty supervision.
Innovation Student Fellows: Students demonstrating an interest in the focal themes of the Program and wishing to support Program scholarship and activities can apply for a semester-long Student Research Fellowship. One fellowship will be awarded each semester.
Summer Access to Law Fellowships: Vanderbilt Law School provides financial support to students who work in the summer for non-profit organizations dedicated to developing legal innovations that promote access to legal services for small businesses and low- and moderate-income families.
