Allaire Urban Karzon joined Vanderbilt's law faculty as a lecturer in 1971 and served on the law faculty until her retirement in 1995 as a professor of law. At the beginning of her career, she was an attorney in the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., and then served in the Law Department of Radio Corporation of America in New York from 1950-52. She was in private practice in Buffalo, New York, from 1952-68, and in Nashville from 1968-72 before she joined Aladdin Industries as Vice President of Law in 1972. She spent a year in New York as Staff Vice President and Counsel with RCA Corporation before joining Vanderbilt's law faculty full-time in 1977. She spent the 1983-84 academic year as an academic visitor at the London School of Economics. She was admitted to practice in Maryland, New York, Tennessee and Florida.
