Founding Partner, Sievert Werly

Dan Werly is a founding partner of Sievert Werly in Nashville, where he chairs the firm’s professional sports law practice and represents professional sports teams, including the Tennessee Titans, and sports businesses in a variety of transactional legal matters. Werly is co-chair of the American Bar Association's Sports Division and a nationally recognized sports legal expert who has been quoted in ESPN, Fox Business, USA Today, The New York Post, Bleacher Report, MSNBC and other media. Before founding Sievert Werly, he practiced law in Chicago with Foley Lardner, where he was a member of the sports industry team and represented professional sports teams, leagues and athletes. Werly began his career as an associate with Drinker Biddle & Reath. A frequent speaker and writer on legal issues that impact the sports industry and the practice of law, he is the founder and managing editor of the sports law website TheWhiteBronco.com, the only sports-related legal blog named to the American Bar Association's 2016 list of top 100 legal blogs. He is also the co-host of the sports legal podcast "Conduct Detrimental." He currently serves on the board of directors of Play Like a Girl, an organization that promotes access to competitive sports for girls ages 9 to 13, and as president of the Nashville chapter of the Sports Business Leadership Association.
