Deborah E. Schander

Associate Director for Public Services
Lecturer in Law

Deborah Schander teaches introductory and specialized legal research classes for law students and oversees the law library’s public services department. She also coordinates the law school's participation in Vanderbilt's institutional repository and provides research and reference support to students, faculty and other members of the Vanderbilt Law School community. Before joining the Vanderbilt law library, she was a librarian and member of the Georgia State University College of Law faculty, focusing on digital projects and student outreach. Professor Schander is an active member of regional and national law library associations at both the committee and special interest section levels. She is chair of the Professional Engagement, Growth, and Advancement special interest section of the American Association of law libraries and past president of the Atlanta Law Libraries Association. Professor Schander has written and spoken on a variety of topics, including legal research instruction, graphic design and student programming.
