Kathryn Ward Booth joined Vanderbilt’s legal writing faculty in 2015 and teaches legal writing to first-year J.D. students. Professor Booth was previously an Assistant United States Attorney in the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Tennessee, where she prosecuted a wide range of cases including tax fraud, Ponzi schemes and investor fraud. She handled criminal investigations, trials in the District Court and appeals before the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Professor Booth prosecuted criminal tax fraud at the Department of Justice Tax Division.
From 2006 to 2008, Professor Booth served as a judicial clerk to Justice Barbara Milano Keenan on the Supreme Court of Virginia.
