Patricia Eastwood joined the legal staff at Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation in 1996 after practicing for four years in the corporate transactions and bankruptcy practice group of Smith Gambrell & Russell. Now a senior corporate counsel at Caterpillar Financial, Professor Eastwood manages the practice group supporting the company’s treasury, accounting, tax, and compliance functions. Her experience and expertise encompass a variety of substantive areas, including financial regulatory issues, data privacy, human resources, corporate governance and federal government contracting, as well as techniques around creating, implementing, and supporting compliance processes for a global company.  The compliance support functions of her practice group serve offices in over 35 countries and business activities in many more. She is a member of the Nashville Bar Association and served as Treasurer in 2009-10.  In addition to teaching law students, she has also written articles and participated in continuing education about compliance topics from an in-house perspective and often focusing on the unique challenges presented in an international practice.
