This seminar examines the legal framework for development of renewable sources of electric power. Emphasis will be placed on federal, state and regional efforts to regulate concerns surrounding the development of solar, wind, and biomass as sources of electricity, as well as other clean energy resources including conservation. The seminar will address the unique aspects of renewable project financing and power purchase contracts, legal barriers to the development of renewable power projects, and ways of reforming state and federal law to promote greater innovations in renewable power. Students will be expected to develop and write a research paper, which will be presented in the final month of the seminar. Enrollment limited.
