Energy Industry Mergers and Acquisitions Short Course

This course will initially provide students with a general background survey of the laws and practices applicable to international energy transactions. The course will then explore the most important elements of a typical M&A transaction involving energy assets or a company in the energy industry, including the steps involved in structuring and completing an acquisition or disposal. The course will deal with a typical transaction from initial negotiations, through due diligence, key documentation, closing and post-closing matters. The primary focus of the course will be on private M&A transactions, although some aspects of securities laws will be considered. Pass/Fail Enrollment limited
