Advanced Patent Litigation Practicum

This course simulates advanced strategies and tactics in patent infringement litigation. Students will participate in activities which include drafting Daubert motions, summary judgment motions, jury instructions; preparing for Markman hearings and depositions; and exploring topics related to practice before the International Trade Commission and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board. The purpose of the course is to blend substantive knowledge of patent law with practical application in a complex litigation context with an emphasis on litigation skills including oral and written advocacy, the use of evidence as it relates to the issues encountered in patent litigation, and developing a record/narrowing issues for trial and appeal. Limited Enrollment.
