Legal Operations

While the term "legal operations" is relatively new to the legal lexicon, its function has been central to in-house legal departments for decades, and has a corollary function in law firms. Operations within a legal business entity can cover a wide array of areas, including financial management, vendor management, cross-functional alignment, technology procurement and support, data analytics and management, IP management, knowledge management, information governance and records management, communication, strategic planning, services delivery, and more. This course will explore the various functionalities of a legal operations department and explore the skills required of both legal operations professionals and lawyers in various practice settings.
