Antitrust Law for Big Tech
This course will explore what some believe is a growing problem in the American economy: the large and growing market power held by just a few high-tech companies. In just two short decades, the digital marketplace has gone from a churn of start-ups to a seemingly stable suite of a few big players: Google, Apple, Amazon, and Facebook. The course will evaluate this consolidation through an antitrust lens. Do these companies have the kind of market power that antitrust should be worried about? If so, how did antitrust law let it happen? And what can be done now?
Prerequisite: Antitrust Law.
