10 alumni join the Vanderbilt Law School Board of Advisors

Associate Dean for Development and Alumni Relations Scotty Mann has announced that 10 Vanderbilt Law School alumni joined the school’s Board of Advisors in 2020.

The board, which is comprised of more than 50 accomplished Vanderbilt Law graduates, meets throughout the year, but at least each fall in conjunction with the university’s Reunion Weekend and each spring in conjunction with the annual Founders Circle Dinner.

Members provide input on the law school’s curriculum and academic programs, recruit and mentor students, work with the Admissions staff to recruit prospective students, invest in the school financially, and offer other guidance and support. Members represent graduates from every decade starting with the 1960s, including an ex officio member from the most recent graduating class.

Members typically serve a three-year term on the board. New members effective July2020 include:

  • Julie Bracker ’02 (BS’93), Managing Partner, Bracker & Marcus, Atlanta, Georgia
  • Perry Brandt ’77 (BA’74), Partner, Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, Kansas City, Missouri
  • Dave Damus ’90, Chief Executive Officer, System Property Development Co. Inc., Pasadena, California
  • Ned Greene ’88, retired in 2019 as Chief Legal Officer, Worldpay Inc., Cincinnati, Ohio
  • Trey Harwell ’95 (BA’92), Member, Neal & Harwell, Nashville, Tennessee
  • Steve M. Rodin ’02, Maplewood, New Jersey – former Executive Vice President and General Counsel, The Medicines Company until its acquisition by Novartis in 2020
  • Mike B. Shulman ’93,Partner, Shearman & Sterling, New York, New York
  • Amanda Vaughn ’99, Deputy General Counsel, Global Head of Litigation, Bank of America, New York, New York
  • John S. Wilson Jr ’72, retired in 2020 as Chief Legal Officer, Karma Automotive Company, Irvine, California

“Our Board of Advisors plays a crucial role in guiding our academic, admissions and career placement programs, and supporting the law school through leadership gifts,” Mann said. “They form a community of valued stakeholders, and we appreciate their insights and their service.”

Five VLS alumni, including Ben Colalillo ’19 (ex officio), Buzz Frahn ’96, Robert Hays ’83Gaurav Sud ’07 and Van Wolf ’73, completed terms on the board in June 2020. Members typically serve three-year terms.
