Dale A. Tipps ’94 has been appointed by Labor and Workforce Development Commissioner Burns Phillips to a seat on the state’s recently created administrative Court of Workers’ Compensation Claims.
Tipps was previously a partner with the Nashville-based law firm of Levine Orr & Geracioti, where he practiced civil litigation.
Tipps will hear workers’ compensation cases for the Murfreesboro/Nashville area.
The Tennessee Court of Workers’ Compensation Claims was formed as the result of comprehensive Workers’ Compensation reform legislation passed by the Tennessee legislature in 2013 that went into effect in 2014. The reform created a new administrative Court of Workers’ Compensation Claims within the Workers’ Compensation Division. The Court of Workers’ Compensation Claims adjudicates disputed claims for injuries sustained on or after July 1, 2014.
