Jeff Grantham ’89 named managing shareholder of Maynard Cooper & Gale

Jeff Grantham ’89 has been named managing shareholder of Maynard Cooper & Gale. Grantham is based at the firm’s Birmingham, Alabama, office. As managing shareholder, he is responsible for executing the firm’s strategy, operations and practice management.

Grantham is part of the firm’s new governance structure. Going forward, the firm will be governed by a board of directors led by Chairman Greg Curran. Grantham will lead the firm’s operations as head of an executive committee that includes the heads of the firm’s corporate and litigation practices and its chief operating officer. The committee will oversee the management of Maynard Cooper’s multiple legal practices and executive its strategic initiatives, including client focus and geographic expansion.

“As managing shareholder, Jeff will direct the firm’s leadership team in executing our strategic plan and growth initiatives, and he will oversee the management of our various practice groups and client service functions,” Curran said. “Jeff’s passion for the firm is a tremendous asset and a great fit for where we are going as a firm. With Jeff focused on the management of the firm and its practices, I will be able to focus on our corporate practice, client relationships and continued growth initiatives, while assisting Jeff and our leadership team in pursuing our internal and external objectives.”

Grantham has served as the firm’s vice-chair and chief strategy officer for the past year.  He has also served several years on the firm’s executive committee and in as head of the firm’s Insurance and Financial Services Litigation practice.
