Larry Bridgesmith receives Tennessee Bar Association’s President’s Award

Professor Larry BridgesmithLarry Bridgesmith received the Tennessee Bar Association’s President’s Award at its  annual convention June 22. He was honored for his work on the TBA’s Special Committee on the Evolving Legal Market, which is investigating the ways technology is changing the legal profession.

As an adjunct professor of law at Vanderbilt, Bridgesmith coordinates Vanderbilt Law School’s Program on Law & Innovation and teaches Legal Project Management. He also develops Continuing Legal Education courses in conjunction with the Owen Graduate School of Management’s Executive Development Institute. An expert in conflict resolution, he also teaches Mediation and is affiliated with Vanderbilt’s Branstetter Litigation and Dispute Resolution Program.

Bridgesmith has more than 30 years of litigation experience. He is the co-founder and CEO of LegalAlignment, which provides legal project management and lean solutions to law firms and corporate legal departments. Over the course of his legal career, he has practiced in the fields of labor, employment and dispute resolution and served in management roles for boutique and mid-sized law firms.

He founded Lipscomb University’s Institute for Conflict Management and served as its inaugural executive director. In addition to his work as an adjunct professor of law at Vanderbilt, Bridgesmith also teaches at Belmont University Massey Graduate School of Business, the Nashville School of Law and the Albany Medical School Alden March Institute for Biomedical Ethics.
