Law and Economics student Elissa Philip accepts a judicial clerkship

Elissa Philip, student in the Ph.D. Law and Economics ProgramElissa Philip, a fifth-year student in the Ph.D. Program in Law and Economics at Vanderbilt has accepted a judicial clerkship with Judge Jane R. Roth, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, to begin Fall 2016.

Philip, a Vanderbilt Law & Economics Scholar, earned a B.S. in economics and human/organizational development from Vanderbilt University in 2010. In her first year at Vanderbilt Law School, she earned a Vanderbilt Scholastic Excellence Award for Civil Procedure and in her third year Philip earned a VSEA in Employment Law. She was on the staff of the Vanderbilt Law Review in 2012-2013 and was Senior Articles Editor in 2013-2014. Her fields of interest are labor markets and human resources and risk and environmental regulation.
