Law and Economics student Jean Y. Xiao accepts judicial clerkship

Jean Y. Xiao

Jean Y. Xiao, a fifth-year student in the Ph.D. Program in Law and Economics at Vanderbilt, has accepted a judicial clerkship with Judge Carolyn Dineen King, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, to begin fall 2017.

Xiao, a Law & Economics Scholar, earned a B.A. in economics and mathematics from Vanderbilt University in 2011. In her 1L year, she earned Vanderbilt Scholastic Excellence Awards for Legal Writing I & II and won a Lightfoot, Franklin, & White Award for best brief. During summer 2015, Xiao was an intern with the Legal Policy Section of the Antitrust Division at the Department of Justice. She served on the staff of the Vanderbilt Law Review in 2013-2014 and was senior articles editor for VLR in 2014-2015. Her fields of interest are industrial organization and risk and environmental regulation.
