Personal Jurisdiction, Due Process and Originalism: Mallory v. Norfolk Southern Railway Co., a moot court argument Oct. 28

Vanderbilt litigation experts Brian Fitzpatrick, Suzanna Sherry and Ingrid (Wuerth) Brunk will preside over this moot-court-style event highlighting Mallory v. Norfolk Southern Railway Co., a case to be argued before the Supreme Court on Nov. 8, 2022. The event is sponsored by the Branstetter Litigation and Dispute Resolution Program and will be held in Flynn Auditorium at 12:30 p.m Friday, Oct. 28.

Ashley Keller, the lawyer for the petitioner, will be presenting his case, and Fitpzatrick, Sherry and Brunk will be presiding. This lawsuit addresses the issue of whether the due process clause of the 14th Amendment prohibits a state from requiring a corporation to consent to personal jurisdiction to do business in the state.
