Elissa Philip Gentry

Elissa Philip GentryElissa Philip Gentry is a graduate of the the Ph.D. Program in Law and Economics at Vanderbilt University. She earned both her J.D. and her Ph.D. in law and economics in 2016. She earned a B.S. in economics and human/organizational development from Vanderbilt University in 2010. Gentry was a Vanderbilt Law & Economics Scholar. In her 1L year at Vanderbilt Law School, Gentry earned a Vanderbilt Scholastic Excellence Award for Civil Procedure and in her third year she received a VSEA for Employment Law. Gentry was on the staff of the Vanderbilt Law Review in 2012-2013 and was Senior Articles Editor in 2013-2014. Her fields of interest are labor markets and human resources and risk and environmental regulation. Gentry served a judicial clerkship with Judge Jane R. Roth in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in 2016-2017. Gentry will be a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at the Institute for Advanced Study in Toulouse at the Université Toulouse Capitole, in Toulouse, France in Fall 2017.
