Nicholas Marquiss is a Ph.D. candidate and sixth-year student in the Ph.D. Program in Law and Economics at Vanderbilt University. He earned his B.A. in economics at Whitman College in 2013. He is a Vanderbilt Law and Economics Scholar. In his 1L year, Mr. Marquiss earned a Vanderbilt Scholastic Excellence Award for Contracts. He served as staff member of the Vanderbilt Law Review in 2017-2018 and as senior articles editor in 2018-2019. Mr. Marquiss also served as staff member for the Environmental Law and Policy Annual Review in 2018-2019 and as articles editor in 2019-2020. He was selected for two federal judicial clerkships: Judge Joan Larsen, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, 2022–2023; and Judge Douglas H. Ginsburg, U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, 2023–2024. Mr. Marquiss' fields of interest are risk and environmental regulation and industrial organization.
