Eighteen members of the Class of 2020 have been selected to join the Order of the Coif. Vanderbilt’s new Order of the Coif members were announced by Amanda Rose, professor of law, who is president of the Vanderbilt Law School chapter of the Order of the Coif.
Members of the Order of the Coif are selected by faculty approval and represent the top 10 percent of their graduating class. New members from the Class of 2020 include:
- Martha Banner Banks of Macon, Georgia. She earned her B.A. at the University of Virginia. Banks is a law clerk for Judge Priscilla R. Owen of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit.
- Szymon S. Barnas of Norridge, Illinois. He earned his B.A. at the University of Notre Dame. He is a law clerk for Judge James C. Mahan ’73 of the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada.
- Micah N. Bradley of Brentwood, Tennessee. She earned her B.A. at Rollins College. She is a law clerk for Judge Eli J. Richardson ’92 of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. Bradley received the Founder’s Medal for First Honors.
- Thomas K. Conerty of Ada, Michigan. He earned his A.B. at Hope College. He is a law clerk for Judge John B. Nalbandian of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.
- Peter G. Cornick of Atlanta, Georgia. He earned his A.B. at Harvard University. He is a law clerk for Judge Thomas W. Thrash Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
- Robert William Dillard of Houston, Texas. He earned his B.B.A. at the University of Texas, Austin. He is a law clerk for Vice Chancellor Joseph R. Slights III of the Delaware Court of Chancery.
- Elizabeth Ann Dunn of Birmingham, Alabama. She earned her B.S. at the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. She is an associate with Alston & Bird in Atlanta.
- Charlotte Gill Elam of Fairhope, Alabama. She earned her B.A. at Vanderbilt University. She is a law clerk for Judge John K. Bush of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.
- Alice E. Haston of Johnson City, Tennessee. She earned her B.A. at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She is an associate with Sherrard Roe Voigt & Harbison in Nashville.
- Natalie A. Komrovsky of Cleveland, Ohio. She earned her B.A. at Middlebury College. She is a law clerk to Judge Joan L. Larsen of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit.
- Ryli Wallace Leader of Fulton, Missouri. She earned her B.A. at the University of Alabama, Birmingham. She is an associate with Burr & Forman in Birmingham.
- Cara Colleen Mannion of Stuart, Florida. She earned her B.A. at the University of Florida, Gainesville. She is a law clerk for Judge William F. Jung of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
- Hannah M. Miller of Annandale, Virginia. She earned her B.A. at Princeton University, where she was a student commander of the Army ROTC program. She has joined the Army JAG Corps and will serve as a law clerk for Judge Amul Thapar of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit in 2023.
- Joshua William Ohaus of Charlotte, North Carolina. He earned his B.A. at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He is an associate with Moore & Van Allen in Charlotte.
- Rebecca Lund Rhodes of Martin, Tennessee. She earned her B.S.B.A. at the University of Tennessee, Martin. She is an associate at Whitledge & Biehslich in Martin.
- Christopher Scott Sundby (J.D./Ph.D. in law and neuroscience), of Miami, Florida. He earned his B.S. at Oberlin College. He is a law clerk for Judge Adalberto J. Jordan of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit.
- Jeffrey A. Turner of Clarkston, Michigan. He earned his B.A. at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and an M.B.A. from the University of Detroit Mercy. He is a law clerk for Judge Joseph McKinley Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky.
- Jill Rossing Warnock of Annapolis, Maryland. She earned her B.A. at George Washington University. She is an associate with Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C.
