Jacob Neu and Lauren Fromme are the 2010 Moot Court champions. This year’s Moot Court problem dealt with a town that implemented “free speech zones” at public events. “For the brief, we argued in favor of the town that implemented the free speech zones,” Fromme said. “Our argument was that it was content neutral regulation on its face, and that the town’s regulation was narrowly tailored to achieve a significant government interest, which was the safety and order of the town.”
Judges for the final round included Chief Judge Alex Kozinski of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit; Judge Duane Benton of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, and Judge Scott Stucky of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
Finalists were Joanna Robinson and Cherrelle Hooper.
Michael Bowers was Best Oralist, and Nathan McGregor and Ryan Brunson had the Best Brief.
