Adjunct Professor Linda Rose recognized by American Immigration Lawyers Association

Linda Rose, founding partner of the Rose Immigration Law Firm in Nashville, received the American Immigration Lawyers Association's 2012 Susan D. Quarles AILA Service Excellence Award on June 14. Rose was recognized with the award for "her outstanding service, over a period of years, in advancing the mission, development, and value of AILA for its members and the public it serves," according to an AILA release. She received the award at AILA's Annual Conference, held in Nashville, Tennessee.

Rose has practiced immigration law for 25 years and served on AILA's board for 14 years, including two as MidSouth Chapter Chair and 12 as a nationally elected Board member. In addition to serving on Vanderbilt's adjunct law faculty, Rose frequently teaches Continuing Legal Education (CLE) classes through AILA and other professional bar associations. Among the articles she has authored or co-authored is the leading article on wage issues in the labor certification process, "Prevailing Wages Under PERM – How To "Do The Right Thing," in AILA's PERM manual, which she co-authored with Ester Greenfield.

"Linda is an outstanding speaker and a nationally respected leader in the practice of immigration law," said Eleanor Pelta, immediate past president of AILA. "Not only has she distinguished herself with many years of valuable volunteer services to AILA in several roles, but she also as taken on these roles enthusiastically and juggled her professional and personal responsibilities with her AILA service with style, grace and good humor."

Rose was recently added to the Fulbright Specialist Roster, which means she will be awarded up to two Fulbright grants over the next five years to teach comparative immigration law at educational institutions abroad.
