George H. Cate Jr. ’51 (BA’49), Nashville’s first vice mayor, dead at 92
After winning the Founder's Medal, Cate practiced law for more than 60 years and served as the city's first vice mayor under Mayor Beverly Briley. He retired in 2014. In 1984, he received the John C.
