Biography

Kam Cox serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Strategic Initiatives at the University of Illinois. He works across several external and internal structures within the university's athletic department, primarily directing the multiple facets of its name, image, and likeness strategy. Professor Cox arrived at Illinois two years ago as the first name, image, and likeness specialist in the Power Five. Alongside his role within the University of Illinois' athletic department, Cox serves as an adjunct professor at the Illinois College of Law, where he teaches a course on Name, Image, and Likeness.

Before Illinois, Cox worked as securities lawyer at two global law firms based in New York City. He earned his law degree at Vanderbilt Law School and his undergraduate degree from Auburn University. He is a native of Lexington, Kentucky.
