Biography
Steve Sedberry retired as the Vice President and General Counsel, Americas for VF Corporation where he supervised General Counsels for Vans, The North Face, Timberland, Wrangler, Dickies, Smartwool, Nautica, and other iconic brands. He oversaw legal operations in North and South America and the United Arab Emirates.
Today, he has a small corporate practice specializing in helping mid-cap and growth start-ups achieve their goals. Some of his clients include Genesco, Tactacam, and Augusta Sportswear. Before law school, he was the C.O.O. for Century Aluminum Corporation and was a member of the team that took that company public (CENX, Nasdaq). He is licensed to practice law in Texas, Georgia, and Tennessee.
He has taught at the undergraduate level (Business Law) and the graduate level (Vanderbilt's Master of Legal Studies program- Contracts, and Corporations and Business Entities). He has written several books and articles in the field of law, including "Law School Labyrinth" (Kaplan), and "Hedging Law School" (Createspace). Most recently he authored eBooks on non-competition and nondisclosure agreements (Law Insider) and a podcast on trademark licensing. He has taught continuing legal education courses for attorneys (Lawline) and mentored many students, including as a part of Vanderbilt Law School's OneELevate program.
