Elizabeth Gonser

Elizabeth Gonser has a broad-based commercial litigation practice that serves corporate, municipal, and individual clients.

Professor Gonser practices in state and federal court, before the American Arbitration Association and the American Health Lawyers Association, and in concert with mediators and private arbitrators to reach favorable resolutions. She represents hospital systems in disputes with managed care payors, including cases involving improper underpayments and recoupments, Sequestration-related payment disputes, and medical necessity and other payment denials. Her experience includes defending companies and their directors in shareholder litigation; representing music publishers, labels, and artists in copyright infringement actions; advising physician groups; and defending higher education institutions against Title VII and related claims.

Before earning her law degree, Gonser worked in the communications and research division of an international non-profit based in Washington, D.C.  She has served as vice president of the board of directors of a Nashille non-profit focused on supporting middle and high school students; is an alumna of the Nashville Young Leaders Council; and was a member of The Belmont University College of Law American Inns of Court.

Gonser serves as her firm's Recruiting Partner.  She also serves as co-chair of the Nashville Bar Association's Federal Court Committee.
