Francisco Müssnich is founder and senior partner of Barbosa Müssnich & Aragão, with offices in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. His main areas of work are corporate and securities law, principally mergers, acquisitions and hostile takeovers, arbitration and strategic advice on dispute resolution. His expertise includes both international and corporate taxation. He has handled acquisitions and divestitures of companies and business of various kinds in Brazil and abroad. He has taught Advanced Corporate Law and Mergers and Acquisitions at Pontifical Catholic University in Rio de Janeiro since 1984. He is a member of Brazilian Bar Association and the International Fiscal Association. He also acts as a member of the board of directors of Brazilian Symphony Orchestra and WWF World Wildlife Fund (Brazil). He was a judge of the full panel of the Brazilian Superior Court of Soccer until 2012, the National Reporter of the Brazilian Code of Justice for Sports currently in force in Brazil, and is currently an arbitrator of Court of Arbitration for Sports. At Vanderbilt, he is affiliated with the Law & Business Program and co-teaches International Mergers and Acquisitions.
