Paul Werner is a partner in the Business Trials Practice Group at Sheppard Mullin in Washington D.C. office. A seasoned first-chair litigator, Professor Werner has represented clients before diverse decision-making authorities, including all levels of courts and administrative tribunals, federal and state, as well as arbitral tribunals. He specializes in litigation involving cable operators, telecommunications and other broadband providers in matters involving such communications law issues as local franchising, PEG programming, rights-of-way, pole attachments and infrastructure deployment. In addition to representing clients in state and federal courts, he has participated in rulemakings and adjudications before the U.S. Federal Communications Commission. His experience includes a wide range of complex litigation matters from “bet the company” commercial disputes to controversies involving statutory, constitutional, communications, energy, environmental, insurance, intellectual property, false advertising, trade secrets, privacy and administrative law issues.
