Richard McGee is an experienced criminal defense lawyer. He began his career in Nashville’s Public Defender's Office, where he worked for five years before founding his own criminal defense practice, in 1978. During his three decades of practice, he has been lead or co-counsel to more than 100 murder cases, handled hundreds of drug cases and defended clients accused of robbery, kidnapping, embezzlement, assault and theft. He is a former president of the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and chaired its Strike Force, which supports members who are harassed for zealously representing a client. He teaches co-teaches Advanced Evidence and Trial Advocacy.
